About the home
"In Bicciuccolo" is located at the south facing quiet end of the small village of Pietrabuona Castello, looking out at natural forests and the beautiful Pescia River below. Dating from the 1600's, this tuscan village house has been carefully restored by architect / owner Dave Cullinan and Silvia Radicchi.
Characteristic stone and timber staircases link the three levels of the house. The first level includes a fully equipped kitchen and dining room. It has a large fireplace and a sitting area. Off the kitchen, there is a small terrace, for two people, facing south, for outdoor dining.
The second level includes bathroom with large sunken bath, and a large sitting room. Two fold out sofas convert into double beds. The third level or loft looks over the sitting room and houses a double bed. The ceiling of the loft has a generous skylight (1.2mx1.6m) for stargazing. The house is fully equipped with modern appliances, plus a large library, guides, dvds, childrens equipment and toys.

ABOUT PIETRABUONA CASTELLO
PIETRABUONA dates back to the 12th century and has two parts. The upper part, Castelo, is the older part and is surrounded by wide stone walls, and contains the old commune buildings, a beautiful romanesque church and bell tower, and some 20 houses, including "Il Bicciuccolo". A winding stone path leads down to the square (100 m) where the cars are parked, near the modern 1800 church and the village gathers to chat and eat .The lower part of the village is a 1 minute walk or drive down the hill. Here you will find a few bars, fantastic "Da Nerone" restaurant and pizza, grocer and deli, a wood burning bread oven, a Paper museum and the local communist club.
SAN LORENZO is a village 2 minutes drive towards Pescia. It has two good restaurants, a resort pool open to the public, and a popular Disco.
PESCIA is the closest Town (5 mins) and is a beautiful medieval town of 20000 pesciatini. It has a thriving flower industry, with a modern daily flower market. There are lots of great restaurants, bars, icecream, supermarkets, theatre, cinema, smart shops, and a big Saturday market with local produce and products.
