Dating back to 1620, the Bischoff Thatched House is one of the region's oldest houses—a North Sea country house for guests who appreciate antiques and the extraordinary.
My work as a composer and university lecturer has shaped the house's distinctive interior: antiques meet modern designer furniture, designer lighting and craftsmanship, with influences from India, my father's family's homeland.
We regularly rearrange the rooms.
Despite its age, the house meets high contemporary standards. The entrance hall impresses with its exceptionally high ceilings and generous space.
As befits a house of this age, it has its quirks: uneven walls, low doorways and a steep, historic staircase.
They are part of its character. You have exclusive use of the property and its 3,000 m² grounds.
The extensive natural garden, with outdoor furniture, invites you to relax and explore.
Barbecues and fires are expressly welcome.
The North Sea is nearby, ideal for beach walks and mudflat walks, and Kudensee nature reserve is within walking distance. A special highlight is our carefully curated selection of Italian wines, which we import ourselves: high-quality blends for guests who appreciate wine culture.
Handpicked regional artisan products enhance the house's distinctive charm.
The fully equipped kitchen is stocked with spices, Italian pasta, sauces and high-quality oils for you to use free of charge.

Es gab viel zu entdecken und zu bestaunen. Das Haus und der Garten sind mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet worden. Wir hatten zu siebt ausreichend Platz und es gab nichts was wir vermisst hätten!

Grandios fanden wir die vielen verwinkelten, versteckten Zimmer, eingerichtet mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Überraschend war vor allem die Werkstatt/Toilette. Man wusste nie was sich hinter der nächsten Tür befindet.
Außerdem verbrachten wir viel Zeit bei den Kälbern im Kuhstall nebenan, Bauer Thomas hatte nichts dagegen. Toll für kleine (und große) Kinder!
Dass wir nach 3 Tagen wieder abreisen mussten.
