Waldhaus Steinbauer
High on the Koralpe, at 1,200 metres above sea level and above the fog line, Waldhaus Steinbauer is a special retreat for those who value peace, nature and time together.
Surrounded by forest, with sweeping views over the Lavant Valley, the house combines authentic Alpine character with modern comfort. Its story began in 1968, when our grandfather built the house in this special spot.
In 2026, it was carefully renovated and gently brought into the present without losing its roots or original character. The spacious private terrace becomes an open-air living room.
Start the day with coffee in the fresh mountain air, soak up the sun, cook together and enjoy a barbecue.
In the evening, all is quiet, the light shifts over the mountains and your gaze wanders across the valley. Nature starts right on the doorstep.
The extensive grounds, surrounding forests and Koralpe trails invite you to take walks and make little discoveries.
And of course, man's best friend belongs here too: dogs are warmly welcome.
Enjoying the mountain air together, exploring new paths and relaxing on the terrace after an eventful day—this is a getaway where everyone truly feels at home. Waldhaus Steinbauer is a place for quiet mornings, long evenings, shared moments and the simple pleasure of being outdoors and at ease with yourself. Your own little home in the mountains—with room for what really matters.
